Worship 6/5/07

Featuring the worship team from ALCC, of which I am a part. After practice, we will often transition into worship. This was one of those times. There's quite a bit of buzz and other noise, and the mix isn't perfect, as this was recorded straight to CD in mono from the sound booth at the church. I had to punch it up quite a bit. There's also some serious out of tune vocals in there too, but if you let yourself be drawn into the spirit of the music, it's rather enjoyable.

My parents had just returned from attending Extreme Prophetic's "Growing in the Prophetic" conference. The recording starts after they had finished sharing about what happened there. By the way, the word for this season is unstoppable. During one of the sessions where Patricia King was sharing, a shout broke out- one note that grew like the sound of a shofar until the air in the room was resonating to the sound. When it finally ended, she said that that her job for the last seven years has been to proclaim the move of God that is to come, and that shout signaled the transition from foretelling to experiencing. It's time, and God is about to do something awesome and unstoppable in your life. It's too late for the enemy to steal it. You can hear that same note at 32:30, right after she says "You're here!".

Back on track: the vision.

As I was playing this, I kept feeling I needed to keep it slow and solemn. Normally I get wound up a lot sooner. I didn't understand why until afterward, when a number of people shared the picture they kept envisioning as this was progressing. As they shared I was able to see it too.

As the initial chord progression was playing, I saw a huge, dark cavernous throne room. People were filing in silently, and as they would come in, they would fall on their faces. For 20 minutes, they came in, millions of people, until the hall was filled. Then, with the shift in the music at about 20:00, they began to silently reverence the Lord. As they began to worship, a holy anticipation began to tingle in the air, and white light began to gather around His throne. Around 30:00, the anticipation was so great, the hair on my arms stood up. I felt a shift in the music coming. As the chord progression shifted upwards, I saw all the people stand to their feet and begin calling out the attributes of God in unison, as shafts of brilliant glory shone from His throne.

Holy! Holy! Holy! Honor, majesty, power and glory be to the Lord!
Who was and is and is and is to come! The whole earth is filled with your glory!

Something broke loose in the heavens. I still feel the echo of it in my spirit. The best rock concert, the best worship service ever imaginable can't compare to what it'll be like. Now I'm homesick.

Jam 01

This was recorded on May 25th, 2007. I set up my new computer and audio interface for the first time out in the music room. Dean showed up to help me. I ended up using GarageBand because I haven't sprung for something nicer like DP5. It was nice, but somewhat restricting. I can see I'll need something better.

There turned out to be some pretty sweet riffage in there. It starts out in Dm, then progresses to Gm, finally ending in D(major), if I recall correctly. Wait- then it goes to A Dorian? Is that what that is? All I know is it sounded good at the time.
